Emirates has launched a groundbreaking travel insurance product, becoming the first airline to offer such comprehensive coverage. This new insurance, available from 17 June 2026, includes medical cover for conflict-related incidents, airline-managed hotel stays, and extended support during disruptions. Customers can enjoy a free 30-day trip extension and complimentary rebooking on other airlines if flights are cancelled due to conflict.
The Comprehensive Travel Cover, supported by Travel Guard, offers a range of benefits including trip cancellation cover, compensation for baggage delay or loss, and unlimited medical expense and emergency evacuation cover worldwide. Notably, the conflict cover provides reimbursement for medical expenses up to $25,000, irrespective of government travel advice.
Emirates President Tim Clark stated, "Listening to customer feedback, we realised that travel demand remains strong but there was a gap in the market with regards to travel insurance cover. Therefore, we acted to address our customers' needs." The airline's collaboration with Travel Guard aims to enhance the customer experience by providing added confidence for travellers planning their journeys.
The insurance is available for purchase on the Emirates website at the time of booking or can be added to existing bookings. It is accessible in various markets including the UK, UAE, and several European countries. This initiative aligns with Emirates' commitment to its "fly better" brand promise, offering flexibility and reassurance to travellers
