Emirates has launched Cryptocom Pay, allowing customers to use this digital payment solution on the airline's website and app. This new feature is available to UAE residents for bookings priced and settled in Emirati Dirham (AED). The integration follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed in July 2025 between Emirates and Cryptocom, aiming to expand customer payment options.
The introduction of Cryptocom Pay reflects the growing demand for digital payment methods, particularly among younger, tech-savvy travellers. Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated, "Bringing this initiative to life delivers on our commitment to expanding customer choice in how they pay for travel." He highlighted the swift transition from agreement to launch as a testament to both teams and the supportive regulatory environment in the UAE.
Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer of Cryptocom, expressed pride in the partnership, noting, "This collaboration is a testament to the UAE's forward-thinking approach to innovation." The integration is facilitated by Cryptocom's Dubai entity, the first Virtual Asset Service Provider to receive a Stored Value Facilities licence from the UAE Central Bank.
This initiative aligns with the Dubai Cashless Strategy under the D33 Economic Agenda, aiming for 90% of financial transactions to be digital by the end of 2026. It also builds on Emirates' partnership with Dubai Finance to advance digital payments
