Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, is set to launch dedicated weekly freighter flights to Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan starting 16 June 2026. This marks the carrier's first foray into Central Asia, aiming to establish a new trade corridor by integrating the region into its global network. The service will utilise Boeing 777F aircraft, providing over 100 tonnes of cargo capacity each week.

Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, is a burgeoning commercial and logistics hub, serving as a vital economic gateway for Central Asia. The new service, scheduled for Tuesdays, will facilitate the movement of key commodities such as electronics, perishables, and machinery between Almaty and global markets via Dubai.

Badr Abbas, Emirates SkyCargo's Divisional Senior Vice President, stated, "Emirates SkyCargo's weekly freighter service to Almaty is in line with our role as a global trade facilitator and is an important step in expanding our network and connectivity to Central Asia, a region that is experiencing dynamic growth."

In response to increasing global demand, Emirates SkyCargo is expanding its freighter fleet and network. Since March 2026, the airline has added four new Boeing 777 freighters, with six more expected by the end of the year, bringing its total freighter fleet to 21 aircraft by December 2026. This expansion supports the D33 Dubai Economic Agenda, which aims to enhance foreign trade and Dubai's status as a global logistics hub.

The new service offers businesses in Almaty and surrounding areas opportunities to expand their international operations, whilst providing global customers with rapid cargo connectivity to a strategic marketplace
