Etihad Airways has unveiled its first international summer deployment programme for high-performing Emirati airport trainees. This initiative, part of the airline's Airports and Ground Operations Programmes, aims to provide UAE Nationals with hands-on operational experience and international exposure, enhancing their careers within Etihad's expanding global network.

The programme begins with a foundation phase at Zayed International Airport, where trainees gain practical experience in key areas such as check-in, boarding, and baggage operations. Following this, seven Emiratis will join Etihad's international teams in cities like Copenhagen, Paris, Phuket, and Kuala Lumpur during the peak summer travel season. This deployment allows them to apply their skills in real-world settings and collaborate with international colleagues.

Dr. Nadia Bastaki, Chief People, Government and Corporate Affairs Officer at Etihad Airways, emphasised the importance of Emirati talent in the airline's growth strategy. "We have invested in programmes that combine world-class operational training with meaningful international exposure," she stated. Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Chief Operations & Guest Officer, added that the programme prepares Emirati professionals to deliver world-class airport operations and represent the UAE globally.

This initiative is part of Etihad's broader Emiratisation strategy, which aims to create long-term career pathways for UAE Nationals and support the airline's operational growth. The programme is expected to play a crucial role in developing the next generation of Emirati aviation talent, strengthening Abu Dhabi's position as a global aviation hub
