Etihad Airways has launched its Airbus A380 service between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, marking the aircraft's first arrival in Thailand. The daily service introduces The Residence, the world's only three-room suite in the sky, to the Thai market. Passengers can also choose First Apartments, Business Class lie-flat seats and an Economy cabin. The launch aims to meet growing demand for travel between Thailand, the Middle East and Europe during the peak winter season.
The Bangkok service forms part of Etihad's wider expansion across Asia. The airline launched A380 services to Tokyo in June 2026. Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted the significance of the latest milestone. He said, “The arrival of our A380 in Bangkok is a significant milestone and another example of how we are investing behind strong customer demand.”
The A380 offers several premium travel experiences. The Residence features a living room, a bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. It accommodates up to two guests. First Apartments offer private suites with reclining lounge chairs and access to an onboard shower.
Business Class features 70 lie-flat seats and a dedicated lounge area. Economy accommodates 415 passengers and offers enhanced seating and entertainment options.
The expansion strengthens Etihad's premium services between Abu Dhabi and Asia. It also gives travellers from Thailand seamless connections across the airline's global network. Passengers can also use the Abu Dhabi Stopover programme, which offers a complimentary hotel stay of up to two nights.
