Position Summary
This role looks after the financial accounting for the Flight Centre Travel Group Leisure Brand operations.
This decentralised financial accounting role supports the Australian Leisure business and requires you to have a disciplined financial control mindset, diligent work ethic, be proactive in finding solutions, have strong customer and teamwork skills, time management skills and ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
This is a senior financial accounting level role; great for someone looking to progress their career in a large ASX listed company, with an operational support focus.
Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
Month-end accounting for the Leisure business to assist in the GL close process
Balance Sheet Reconciliations across the Leisure business
Protect our business by monitoring and reviewing at risk items
Timely and accurate preparation of monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reviews
Assist with half year and year end statutory audits
Constantly look to improve efficiencies within finance workflow processes
Assist with special projects and the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives as they arise
Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and minimum standards for financial systems and processes
Key Relationships
Leisure Finance team, including other Accountants, Team Leader, Financial Controller, Finance Business Partners and General Manager
Internal businesses, e.g. Tax, Global Financial Reporting, Payroll, Banking
Cognizant (offshore provider)
Skills/Experience
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar
CA/CPA or studying towards
Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels
Teamwork skills
High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure
