Finland, renowned as the world's happiest country, is inviting global food enthusiasts to experience its culinary delights through the first-ever National Tastings. This unique event, dubbed Finland's Official Tasting Table, will be held in September 2026 across two stunning locations: the Coast and Archipelago region and Lapland. The initiative aims to introduce Finnish cuisine, a lesser-known gem, to the world.
The tastings will feature menus crafted by top Finnish chefs, including Erik Mansikka and Joel Manninen, who will showcase the authentic flavours of their respective regions. Mansikka, known for his Michelin-starred Restaurant Kaskis, will present a menu inspired by the Coast and Archipelago. Meanwhile, Manninen, celebrated for his modern Arctic approach, will highlight the unique ingredients of Lapland.
Heli Jimenez, Senior Director of International Marketing at Business Finland, emphasised the uniqueness of Finnish cuisine, stating, "Finland is your chance to discover the final great secret of the world's culinary cultures." The event promises a multisensory journey, blending flavours with Finland's breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural stories.
Applications for the tastings are open until 9 June 2026, with participants required to complete a social media challenge. Eight guests will be selected for each tasting, offering a rare opportunity to explore Finnish culinary traditions deeply connected to nature and simplicity
