flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has announced the commencement of a new daily service to Pokhara International Airport, marking its second destination in Nepal. Starting on 23 September 2026, the flights will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, as part of a codeshare with Emirates.
The new route positions flydubai as the first UAE carrier to offer direct flights to Pokhara, a city renowned for its adventure and leisure tourism. This expansion underscores flydubai's commitment to Nepal, where it has been operating since 2009, having transported approximately four million passengers to date. Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith stated, “Introducing direct flights to Pokhara underscores our ongoing commitment to supporting free flows of trade and tourism between the UAE and Nepal.”
The airline's seat capacity to Nepal has increased significantly, with up to five daily flights to Kathmandu during peak periods. Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, commented, “We are delighted to expand our footprint in Nepal with daily operations to Pokhara, offering our passengers more flexibility and choice across our network.”
The direct service, part of the flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership, offers passengers smoother itineraries and access to an extensive network. Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Pokhara start at $1,361 (AED 5,000), whilst Economy Class Lite fares begin at $517 (AED 1,900). Flights are available for booking on flydubai's website and through travel partners
