Flydubai has inaugurated its first service to Benghazi, Libya, marking a significant milestone as the first UAE carrier to operate flights to Benghazi Benina International Airport. The new service, which commenced on 18 June 2026, will run three times a week, enhancing connectivity between Dubai and Libya.

The inaugural flight was greeted with a water cannon salute and a warm reception from local airport officials. This new route expands flydubai's African network to 13 destinations across nine countries, offering more travel options in the region. Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion, stating, “With the busy summer period upon us and as we continue to scale up our operations, our customers can benefit from a new gateway to Africa with the launch of our new nonstop service to Benghazi.”

Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai, added, “Africa remains a strategically important market for flydubai and we are pleased to have added Benghazi to our network.”

The service is part of the flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership, allowing passengers to enjoy seamless travel with a single ticket and through check-in of baggage. Flights will operate from Terminal 3, Dubai International, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Return Business Class fares from Dubai start at $2,860 (AED 10,500), whilst Economy Class Lite fares begin at $1,225 (AED 4,500).
