Harcourt Hotels has unveiled a new book, The Harcourt Collection, to commemorate its 40th anniversary and the vision of its founder, Pat Doherty.
The book, published by Harcourt Developments, brings together the stories of five distinctive hotels under the Harcourt brand, showcasing their unique architecture and heritage.
The book, produced by Harcourt Developments' Creative Director John Paul Doherty, features photography by Chris Heaney, Patryk Sadowski, and Bladesman, with contributions from journalists Janice Morley and Emma Wells.
It is available free to guests at any Harcourt Collection hotel, inviting readers to explore the rich history and hospitality of these unique locations.
Bringing properties to their full potential
The collection includes the Titanic Hotel Belfast, Titanic Hotel Liverpool, Lough Eske Castle and Redcastle Hotel & Spa in County Donegal, and Carlisle Bay in Antigua.
Each property reflects Doherty's knack for spotting potential in overlooked locations, transforming them into luxury destinations.
"Tapping into potential, looking beyond the obvious, and trusting my gut instincts have always served me well," Doherty remarked.
The journey began in 1986 with the acquisition of a dilapidated hotel on Lough Foyle, which became the Redcastle Hotel. Doherty's vision extended to Lough Eske Castle, a 15th-century ruin, now a five-star hotel.
The Caribbean's Carlisle Bay was added after Doherty saw potential in a hurricane-damaged club, whilst the Titanic Hotels in Liverpool and Belfast celebrate maritime history.
