Hilton expands luxury portfolio with new appointments Fabien Gastinel.

Hilton has announced the appointment of five new general managers as part of its strategy to expand its luxury and lifestyle portfolio across Asia Pacific. These seasoned hoteliers will be instrumental in shaping the identities of Hilton's properties, ensuring they reflect the unique character of their respective destinations.

Fabien Gastinel takes charge of Waldorf Astoria Osaka, marking the brand's first foray into Japan. With over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Gastinel brings a destination-led approach to the role. Whilst, Mark Foxwell, who has spent three decades in Asia Pacific's luxury hotel sector, will lead the opening of Waldorf Astoria Tokyo Nihonbashi in 2027.

Markus Kosch, a 28-year Hilton veteran, will oversee Conrad Nagoya, the brand's inaugural hotel in the city. His leadership will focus on integrating locally inspired design and experiences that draw from Aichi Prefecture's artistic heritage. Lucky Ou, who previously spearheaded the opening of La Festa Phu Quoc, will lead Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit, the first Canopy by Hilton in Southeast Asia. Lastly, Winnie Chu, with 20 years in luxury hospitality, will head Xi Zhe Wuxi, Curio Collection by Hilton, located partly within a heritage building from 1933.

Hilton's expansion includes over 180 trading hotels in the region and 90 more in development. This growth is expected to create over 200 senior leadership positions and 400 supervisory roles by 2026, further strengthening Hilton's presence in the Asia Pacific hospitality sector.
