Holland America Line has announced the expansion of its fleet to 12 ships with the addition of the Vista Class vessel, Arcadia, set to join in 2029. This strategic move will increase the cruise line's capacity by over 2,000 guests and support its ongoing Holland America Evolution transformation programme.

Arcadia, transferred from P&O Cruises, will align with Holland America's existing Vista Class ships, including Oosterdam, Noordam, Westerdam, and Zuiderdam. Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, stated, "Adding Arcadia allows us to welcome more guests whilst building on everything they already love about our brand."

The Holland America Evolution programme is a multiyear investment aimed at enhancing guest experiences by introducing new venues, restaurants, and staterooms. Notable features already implemented on Oosterdam and Zuiderdam include the Grand Dutch Café and Solo Verandah cabins. Oosterdam will debut its enhancements in autumn 2027, followed by Zuiderdam in April 2028. Plans for Arcadia's upgrades will be finalised in the coming months.

The addition of Arcadia not only supports Holland America's growth but also provides greater deployment flexibility. Bodensteiner emphasised the company's commitment to offering enriching travel experiences, stating, "This additional capacity helps us offer even more choices to travellers who believe the journey should be as rewarding as the destination."

As Arcadia joins the Holland America fleet, P&O Cruises will welcome Queen Anne from Cunard, which will undergo design changes in 2029. Further details on Arcadia's deployment and design will be shared in the coming months.
