Hotelverse was lauded for helping hotels turn room personalisation into a new source of ancillary revenue.
Hotelverse emerged as the Ancillary Revenue Platform of the Year - Thailand at the Travel Daily Media Travel Trade Excellence Awards 2026 - Thailand. This accolade recognises the company’s approach to helping hotels generate more revenue whilst giving guests greater control over their stay.
Whilst ancillary revenue makes up only around 4% of hotel revenue, compared with 40% in airlines and 34% in the cruise industry, Hotelverse is working to close this gap through a platform built around personalisation and choice.
Turning guest choice into new revenue
Hotelverse enables guests to customise their stay by choosing upgrades, additional services, and specific room features for an extra fee. With its Attribute-Based Selling technology, travellers can select preferences such as a sea view, balcony, higher floor, or bathtub, rather than simply booking a room category.
The company also pioneered the ability for guests to select their exact room before arrival. It features digital twin technology which allows travellers to virtually explore a hotel and choose the room they want before completing their booking.
With this option, guests are given more visibility over what they are buying. At the same time, it helps hotels create a stronger direct booking experience and generate additional revenue from each reservation.
The platform also supports room upgrades, bidding, early check-in, late check-out, and other ancillary services. It integrates with existing hotel technology systems and gives hotel teams tools for personalised offers, segmentation, reporting, and guest communication.
The commercial potential of this approach is evident in the results it yielded, with Hotelverse generating more than 3 million digital twin views. A total of 74% of website visitors interact with the experience. Aside from this, confirmation emails featuring room-selection banners record a 79% open rate, whilst the platform delivers a 19% conversion rate and an average of EUR129 in additional revenue per booking.
Guest response has also been favourable. According to a recent survey, 95% of guests who selected their room would use the service again—proof that greater choice can add value to the booking experience as well as the hotel’s bottom line.
The Hotelverse, which was founded in 2022, has raised $6.5 million from investors and its technology is now used by major hotel groups. It has also operations in more than 20 destinations
Heading into the future, Hotelverse is continuing its international expansion by focusing on the United States, Asia, and Southern Europe. The company is also preparing a US funding round to support its next stage of growth.
