Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt Centric Sapporo, marking the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Hokkaido, Japan. Situated in the heart of Sapporo, the hotel provides an ideal starting point for exploring the city's neighbourhoods and the wider island, with local expertise integrated into the guest experience.

Located on the top floors of a mixed-use tower, the hotel is adjacent to the historic Akarenga-chosha and near Odori Park. Guests can easily access the Odori subway station via an underground walkway, whilst JR Sapporo Station is a short 10-minute walk away. Sapporo serves as a gateway to Hokkaido's renowned ski resorts, hot springs, and national parks, making it a popular destination for both domestic and international travellers.

The hotel features 216 guestrooms and suites, each designed to reflect the cultural and natural heritage of Hokkaido. "We are thrilled to introduce the Hyatt Centric brand to Sapporo, a dynamic destination where every season reveals a new side of Hokkaido," said Yuki Takimura, General Manager of Hyatt Centric Sapporo.

Dining options include Matsu Grill & Bar, which offers wood-fired grilling with Mediterranean influences, and Mr. Fish, a casual café serving fish and chips made from local ingredients. The hotel also provides Local Insiders to help guests discover Sapporo's seasonal attractions.

To celebrate its opening, Hyatt Centric Sapporo is offering a special promotion for bookings made by 31 October 2026, including discounts, complimentary breakfast, and hotel credits. World of Hyatt members can also earn double points on eligible stays
