TDM AWARDS - NOMINATE NOW!

ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, has announced the selection of 28 artists from 14 countries to create the art for its 37th winter edition. This follows a record-breaking 293 applications, the highest in the hotel's history. The artists, hailing from countries including New Zealand, the UK, and India, will transform 2,000 tonnes of ice harvested from the Torne River into a unique art experience.

Half of the selected artists are seasoned in working with ice, whilst the other half are newcomers to the medium. Luca Roncoroni, Creative Director at ICEHOTEL, expressed gratitude for the continued global interest, noting, "The fact that half of the selected artists have never applied before makes us both proud and humbled."

The hotel will open its doors on 11 December, featuring artistic concepts such as "The Cold Descent" and "The Emperors Suite," where guests can experience hand-sculpted Emperor Penguins. Marie Herrey, CEO of ICEHOTEL, highlighted the excitement surrounding the artistic vision, stating, "These 28 artists will gather here in Jukkasjärvi to transform ice and snow into unforgettable experiences."

Construction of ICEHOTEL 37 will commence in mid-November, covering 2,800 square metres. The seasonal hotel will melt back into the Torne River in spring, whilst ICEHOTEL 365 remains open year-round. As summer approaches, visitors can enjoy the contrast of ice art under the midnight sun, with the creation of ICEHOTEL 37 set to begin again in autumn
