Business Development Manager, Homebased, Youth Travel, £35-50k + bonus. We are delighted to be working with this award winning, escorted tour operator that typically caters for the youth travel (20-40+) market offering experiential tours around the world. They have strong environmental, social and sustainable credentials that showcase to travellers how the locals live.
Business Development Manager Responsibilities
- Driving trade sales through travel agent, OTA’s, wholesalers and consortia both in the UK and other global markets.
- Build awareness of the brand and develop relationships with new and existing trade partners.
- Visit travel agents in the UK and Europe to provide ongoing product training and support.
- Work in conjunction with the central marketing and and reservations teams to ensure a joined up and consistent approach to the market.
- Work with the tech teams to ensure booking system connections and working properly and project managing new connections.
- Attend trade shows, industry events and conferences to represent the company and develop new partnerships.
- Create and manage incentives, agent FAM trips and marketing collateral.
Business Development Manager Skills Required
- A recent and successful track record of trade sales in tour operating, preferably working for similar youth / escorted tour operators.
- Flexible to travel approximately 20% of the time in UK and 10% in Europe.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Additional European languages an advantage but not essential
- Comfortable presenting, training and networking.
Business Development Manager Additional Details
- A basic salary of £35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
- Bonus
- Home based in the UK, prefer close to London but this is not essential
- Flexibility to travel and meet agents, trade partners and industry events
