GCS Recruitment are searching for an Accountant to work with one of the leading local retailers in Malta.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing financial statements, business plans, commentaries and budgets for management and client reports
• Undertaking audits, involving examinations of the organisation’s accounts, analysing risk, inspecting the organisation’s current practices, investigating any financial irregularities and recommending improvements
• Reviewing, implementing and adapting to new and existing financial systems and controls
• Producing and analysing annual and monthly accounts
• Managing expenditure, credit and payroll
• Advising managers on financial policy and control, such as costs and benefits regarding projects
• Dealing with and advising on tax, income tax, VAT issues and ensuring compliance with legislation

Requirements:

• ACCA qualifications or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Excellent numeracy and negotiation skills
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
• Great problem-solving and analytical skills
• Great leadership and team working skills
