Head of Purchasing – Travel Industry – Location Bangkok. A fantastic opportunity to work for a highly reputable, global travel company based in Bangkok Thailand, where you will be responsible for a leading a team of regional purchasing managers across Asia and Australasia.

Head of Purchasing Responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading a remote team of around 12 people across different source markets and overseeing the purchasing / contracting strategy for mainly hotels but also other ground services including tranportation and excursions. You will ensure there are high levels of account management including development plans for leading hotel companies across the region. You will implement the supplier negotiation process to ensure the required rates, availability and connectovity is achieved to meet business needs. You will carry out tenders with core suppliers and DMC’s to ensure competitive commercial terms are nmaintained and continually seek improvements to processes to drive automation and increase productivity. You will manage the regions XML and direct connectivoty relationships to ensure the business has the best possible rates, inventory and content.

Head of Purchasing Skills Required

• A highly experienced purchasing / product / contracting professional with strong knowledge of the Asian region
• Strategic capability with high levels of drive and enthusiasm
• Experience leading remote teams and getting the best out of people
• An understanding of XML, connectivity, channel management and product distribvution in the travel industry
• Degree in a business, tourism or similar subject matter
