Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage the trade marketing and market development strategy through the delivery of partnership advertising campaigns, industry engagement and product development initiatives across the Singapore, Malaysian and Philippine markets.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage the trade marketing program (online and offline) across the Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippine markets. This includes ongoing communication through planning and coordination with central content and creative, and in-market teams to ensure campaigns are integrated to maximise impact.

Lead and manage the market development strategy across the Singapore, Malaysia and Philippine markets.
Provide digital expertise to travel trade partners and the wider SSEA trade team to ensure travel partners and internal teams are well skilled to deliver effective and efficient campaigns.
To work closely with functional team leads to ensure the synthesis of PR, trade and marketing work streams collaborate to deliver optimal results of scale across Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.
To develop and manage key relationships with travel trade, the tourism industry, airlines and stakeholders. This includes ensuring the dissemination of TNZ research to the travel industry, and effective engagement with the industry.

Provide expert advice to Regional Manager SSEA and GM Asia in the following areas:
– competitor activity, market trends and opportunities,
– trade marketing campaign efficiency, market share and impact,
– changes in the composition and functional performance of the Singapore, Malaysian and Philippine trade distribution sector
– trade marketing guidance during the annual planning process.

To effectively and prudently manage assigned budgets and accurate and timely reports

PERSON SPECIFICATION
• A Tertiary degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent experience in a related environment or discipline.
• At least 6+ years of international marketing experience with a heavy focus on digital marketing in the travel and tourism sector.
• A thorough understanding of the tourism retail and distribution model.
• Balanced and comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand as a product and destination, and Singapore/Malaysia/Philippines as target markets.
• English is essential, while written and verbal fluency in Chinese and Malay languages is valuable.
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships.
