WILDLIFE CONSERVATION TRAVEL CONSULTANT

£18,000 – £26,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

THE JOB
We’re delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established and growing tour operator who specialises in providing wildlife conservation travel experiences within Southern Africa. This is a fantastic opportunity if you have a genuine interest in wildlife, a travel industry background and enjoy building rapport with clients selling meaningful, ethical and responsible travel options. You’ll engage with customers over the phone and via email, taking a consultative and proactive approach to sales, identifying options and tailoring packages suitable to their requirements and helping your customers at every step from initial interest to purchase and beyond. This will involve preparing itineraries and quotes in an accurate and timely manner and organising bespoke departure packs for travellers. We’re looking for a positive, enthusiastic individual who is also willing to work with the sales and marketing team to generate new ideas that promote their trips and attend talks and marketing events, if and when needed, to boost your product knowledge.

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
*Literate and numerate with a high level of attention to detail
*Strong written and verbal communication skills with a personable and professional telephone manner
*Experience working in the travel industry, ideally in a travel consultant role, is essential
*Proven sales and customer service experience, able to sell in a consultative manner
*A demonstrable interest in wildlife and/or wildlife conservation
*Accustomed to successfully working towards and exceeding KPI’s
*Experience working in an office environment
*A valid driving licence
*A positive, enthusiastic and pro-active manner with a willingness to adapt and get involved with all aspects of a growing company

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
In addition to a basic salary, you’ll benefit from membership of their profit share scheme in the second full financial year of employment, 25 days of leave per year plus UK public holidays, a company laptop as well as initial and ongoing training. This is a full time, permanent role working Monday to Friday. You will work 2 or 3 days a week 8.30 am to 5.30 pm and the other days 11.30 am to 8.30 pm.
