Journey Beyond, Australia's leading experiential tourism group, has celebrated the grand reopening of Reefworld with a special event in the Whitsundays. The occasion, dubbed Reefworld Reimagined, brought together travel media and industry figures to witness the official unveiling of the transformed pontoon at Hardy Reef.

Guests began their experience with an overnight stay on Hamilton Island, dining at the Catseye Pool Club, before cruising to Hardy Reef. The event commenced with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country by Robbie Congoo, a Ngaro and Gia traditional owner. Shaun Cawood, Cruise Whitsundays General Manager, highlighted the significance of the reopening, stating, "The reopening of Reefworld marks an exciting new chapter for overnight stays on the Great Barrier Reef."

The refurbishment of Reefworld is part of Journey Beyond's $42 million investment in the region, as noted by Alicia Triggs, Executive General Manager Sales and Partnerships. The investment also includes the construction of a new 36-metre catamaran. Jennifer Vandekreeke, Managing Director Experiences and Attractions, officially opened the pontoon with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, describing Reefworld as a "globally unique reef-immersive stay."

Guests enjoyed a seafood lunch and participated in marine activities, including guided snorkelling and scuba diving. The day concluded with a memorable sunset and a stay in the redesigned Reefsleep accommodation. Reefworld offers an all-inclusive experience with a three-course dining menu featuring local seafood and premium Australian wines.
