Marina Bay Sands and the SG Eco Fund have embarked on a two-year collaboration to enhance public awareness and community involvement in environmental sustainability and climate resilience across Singapore. This initiative includes the Sustainable Futures Film Festival at the ArtScience Museum, showcasing films on climate change and biodiversity conservation.
The partnership extends beyond film, featuring interactive exhibitions at the ArtScience Museum focused on biodiversity and sustainability. Additionally, it involves collaboration with SG Eco Fund grant recipients to offer booths, art installations, learning tours, and sustainability workshops for students and the general public.
The partnership was inaugurated with the launch of the Sustainable Futures Film Festival on 11 June, attended by key figures such as Goh Hanyan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment. The festival supports Singapore’s Year of Climate Adaptation, highlighting climate change impacts through multidisciplinary approaches.
The film festival, running from 12 June to 31 August 2026, will present 12 complimentary screenings, including documentaries and feature films. Highlights include "A Life Illuminated" and "Blue Carbon: Nature’s Hidden Power," which explore marine biology and blue carbon ecosystems, respectively.
Marina Bay Sands' commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated by its Sands ECO360 strategy, which achieved significant reductions in emissions and water usage. The resort continues to be recognised for its sustainability efforts, maintaining its Events Industry Council Platinum certification and Global Sustainable Tourism Council accreditation
