Yas Bay Waterfront, Yas Island, Abu DhabiMiral, a prominent creator of immersive destinations in Abu Dhabi, has announced the 'Run for Impact: Saving the Arabian Sand Cat' community race, scheduled for 25 October 2026 at Yas Bay Waterfront. This event, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Al Ain Zoo, EllisDon, and ZUBLIN Construction LLC, seeks to promote active lifestyles whilst raising awareness about the conservation of the Arabian Sand Cat, an endangered species in the UAE.
Participants of all ages and fitness levels can choose from 3km, 5km, and 10km race distances, with the first race starting at 6:45 am. The registration fee of $13.61 (AED 50) will directly fund research and conservation initiatives under IMPACT by Miral, a strategic platform dedicated to delivering social and environmental impact across Abu Dhabi.
The event will also feature family-friendly activities hosted by Al Ain Zoo, including themed face painting, photo opportunities, and educational trivia challenges. Exclusive merchandise will be available, allowing participants to further support the cause. The day will conclude with an awards ceremony, where winners will receive theme park tickets.
IMPACT by Miral, launched in partnership with the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, focuses on conservation, arts and culture, health and wellbeing, and education and skills development. The initiative to protect the Arabian Sand Cat involves advanced techniques such as environmental DNA analysis and AI-enabled data analysis to close critical knowledge gaps about the species.
