Oman Air reports robust growth in 2025

Oman Air has announced a significant increase in its commercial performance for 2025, with the airline carrying 5.8 million passengers, marking an 8% rise from 2024 and a 57% increase from 2022. This growth is attributed to the airline's transformation programme, which focuses on efficiency, sustainable growth, and enhancing the guest experience. Notably, 64% of passengers were point-to-point, a segment that saw a 34% year-on-year increase.

The airline's capacity utilisation improved, rising from 76% in 2024 to 82% in 2025, reflecting disciplined network and revenue management. Oman Air expanded its network by launching new routes and increasing frequencies, joining the oneworld Alliance in mid-2025, which extended its reach to 900 destinations globally. New direct services to cities such as Amsterdam, Taif, Singapore, Baghdad, and Copenhagen have bolstered Omanโ€™s global connectivity.

CEO Con Korfiatis stated, โ€œThese results highlight the tangible progress made through Oman Airโ€™s transformation strategy, which has prioritised commercial optimisation, smarter deployment of resources and a sharper focus on customer experience.โ€

Domestically, Oman Air increased capacity to Salalah by 17% in 2025 compared to 2024, with a 19% rise in passenger numbers. The airline also introduced a direct charter service between Moscow and Salalah, with plans to expand to more Russian cities and European markets by 2027. These initiatives are expected to attract up to 580,000 new passengers to Salalah by 2030, generating over $832 million (OMR 320 million) in tourism revenue.

Oman Air's transformation programme, initiated in 2023, aims to achieve financial breakeven whilst enhancing efficiency and service quality. The airline remains committed to sustaining performance improvements and delivering long-term value for passengers and stakeholders.
