Patina Tianjin has announced a creative partnership with multidisciplinary artist Oscar Wang as it prepares for its grand opening in late 2026. Located in the Italian Style Area, the hotel will feature site-specific artwork and a signature collection of lifestyle merchandise inspired by Wang's personal connection to Tianjin and the hotel's historic architecture.

Oscar Wang, known for his work that bridges Eastern and Western influences, will bring a fresh perspective to the project. His previous collaborations include prestigious brands such as Tiffany & Co., Fendi, and Louis Vuitton. Wang's ability to translate cultural narratives into contemporary expressions will offer guests a unique view of Tianjin, revealing the city's layers of history and identity.

Wang's connection to Tianjin is deeply personal, as his great grandfather once worked in the nearby Telephone Bureau No. 4. "Stepping inside the Former Telephone Bureau No. 4 was a deeply personal and evocative experience," Wang said. "I am honoured to bring this personal connection to life through contemporary art pieces at Patina Tianjin."

The partnership aligns with Patina Tianjin's ambition to be more than just a hotel but a platform for creative voices shaping the city. Roland Fasel, President of Capella Hotel Group, stated, "Oscar Wang’s personal connection with the city brings real depth to our partnership and our first Patina in China."

Spanning 18,000 square metres across 17 heritage buildings, Patina Tianjin aims to offer a transformative luxury experience, inviting travellers to explore the city through art, music, and design.
