About Bernie Rosenbloom

Bernie Rosenbloom brings 20-plus years of journalism and copywriting experience to the Lao travel trade. He zeroed in on tourism and hospitality in 2003, when PATA commissioned him as a website and senior writer for “PATA Compass Magazine”.

“Working for PATA placed me on a path to better understanding the industry, and upped my writing game, Bernie said.” Well-known brands began retaining Bernie, including Best Western, THAI Airways, and Delivering Asia Communications (DAC).

PATA also opened his eyes to responsible and sustainable tourism. In 2007, Bernie co-authored the Asian development Bank’s (ADB) “Responsible Tourism Gide to Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam”.

After moving to Laos, the ADB contracted him for their Sustainable tourism Development Project (STDP). In 2009, he began revamping and maintaining STDP’s award-winning ecotourismlaos.com site, and over the next five years, he wrote preleases, articles, promotional materials for STDP and NZAID projects.

At the same time, Bernie began an 8-year relationship with LANITH, focussing on branding and exposure for the tourism and hospitality institute. In 2016, he joined with John Morris Williams to establish WeAreLao, an informative destination marketing platform focussing on original and well-researched news items.

These include accommodation, tour operators, travel agents, airlines, drinking and dining establishments, and tourist attractions and related activities. There are no commissions, pop-up adverts, or banner clutter…just direct connections. The website also sets the foundation for presenting We Are Lao’s suite of marketing communication and promotional services. These “You Are Lao” media tools provide members with a proactive platform to directly reach foreign travel agents and potential visitors.
