Qatar has marked a significant milestone in its tourism sector by welcoming the first leisure charter flight from Yerevan, Armenia.

Operated by FlyOne in collaboration with Rustar Tour Operator, the weekly Airbus A320 service will run until 15 May 2027, bringing approximately 6,500 Armenian visitors to Qatar.

The inaugural flight, which arrived at Hamad International Airport, was celebrated with a warm reception featuring traditional Arabic coffee, dates, and gift bags, symbolising Qatar’s renowned hospitality. This new service not only signifies a return to normal operations following recent regional disruptions but also underscores renewed confidence in Qatar as a travel destination.

The introduction of this charter flight is expected to strengthen tourism ties between Qatar and Armenia, paving the way for future charter and potential scheduled air connectivity. It highlights Qatar's position as a safe and world-class destination, supported by a robust tourism, hospitality, and aviation ecosystem.

Visit Qatar and Hamad International Airport staff were present to welcome the passengers, waving Qatari and Armenian flags in celebration of the new connection.
