Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) is spearheading a transformation in healthcare meeting planning, moving from traditional event execution to a strategic discipline aimed at enhancing scientific exchange and healthcare outcomes.

This evolution was detailed in a report following the Radisson Hotel Group Knowledge Exchange Healthcare Planning Design and Strategy Summit in Florence, Italy, where 75 industry experts gathered to discuss the future of healthcare meeting design.

The summit, which focused on collaborative workshops rather than conventional conferences, revealed that healthcare meetings are increasingly seen as strategic communication systems. Muriel Poulenc, Senior Director Sales Strategy at RHG, noted, “Healthcare meetings are no longer simply logistical exercises—they are strategic communication platforms that can drive measurable educational, scientific, and organisational outcomes.”

The report emphasises the growing professionalisation of healthcare meeting planning, with a shift towards shared methodologies and measurement systems to support effective outcomes. It highlights the evolving role of meeting planners as strategic decision architects, responsible for aligning stakeholders and structuring workflows to enhance decision-making processes.

Whilst artificial intelligence (AI) is prevalent in industry discussions, the summit concluded that technology alone cannot resolve meeting challenges. Instead, RHG advocates for structured methodologies like Lean Six Sigma and Agile to improve planning efficiency and outcomes. The introduction of the Meeting Flow Efficiency Ratio (MFER) framework aims to optimise planning by balancing value-creating activities with reactive efforts.

The report concludes that the future of healthcare meetings lies in combining intelligent orchestration and strategic design to create impactful and scalable engagement. Radisson Hotel Group continues to support this advancement, contributing to the global development of healthcare meeting design
