Riyadh Air Accelerates Take-Off with Five New Routes and Early London Launch

Saudi Arabia's newest national carrier, Riyadh Air, has unveiled five new destinations as it takes another major step towards commercial operations, announcing services to Cairo, Dubai, Jeddah, Madrid and Manchester alongside the arrival of the first three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in its fleet. The expansion marks one of the airline's most significant announcements since its launch and underscores its ambition to transform Riyadh into a major global aviation hub as part of Saudi Arabia's wider tourism and economic diversification plans.

The carrier said the new routes will strengthen connectivity between the Saudi capital and key business, tourism and cultural centres across the Middle East, Europe and North Africa, with additional destinations expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Building Momentum

The route announcement comes as Riyadh Air welcomed its third Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner into the Kingdom, further enhancing operational readiness ahead of a rapid network rollout. The airline is targeting connectivity to more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030, a goal closely aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 strategy, which seeks to position the Kingdom among the world's leading tourism and aviation markets.

Domestic operations will begin with flights to Jeddah on 14 June, followed by Dubai on 18 June and Cairo on 25 June. The carrier will then expand into Europe with Madrid services launching on 17 July and Manchester on 23 July. The latest additions further strengthen Riyadh's growing links with some of its most important visitor and trade markets. Dubai and Cairo remain among the region's busiest aviation corridors, while Madrid and Manchester provide direct access to two key European source markets for tourism, investment and business travel.

London Service Brought Forward

In another sign of its accelerated launch schedule, Riyadh Air confirmed that it has moved forward the start of its London operations from 1 July to 10 June 2026. The earlier launch has been made possible by the ahead-of-schedule delivery of new aircraft, allowing the airline to bring forward one of its most anticipated international routes. Ticket sales across the newly announced destinations and the London service are expected to open through official channels immediately.

Premium Experience at the Core

Riyadh Air said its growing fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will feature the latest cabin technologies, modern interiors and upgraded onboard experiences designed to compete with leading global airlines. The airline has previously positioned itself as a digitally driven premium carrier, promising advanced connectivity, personalised services and hospitality standards aimed at attracting both business and leisure travellers.

The latest expansion represents another milestone in Saudi Arabia's rapidly evolving aviation landscape, which has seen billions of dollars invested in airports, airlines and tourism infrastructure as the Kingdom works to capture a larger share of global travel demand and establish Riyadh as a leading international gateway.
