Royal Caribbean has announced a partnership with Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity to coincide with the European debut of the Legend of the Seas in July 2026.
The cruise line will feature the Broadway musical "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" onboard, offering guests opportunities to support the charity through donations and awareness initiatives. This collaboration aims to raise funds for specialist Roald Dahl Nurses who provide care to over 50,000 seriously ill children across the UK.
Launching just before National Children's Nurses Day on 30 June, the partnership will highlight the work of these nurses, who deliver expert care and support to children with complex conditions. Onboard fundraising activities during the ship's inaugural European season will aid the charity's network of over 250 nurses working within NHS Trusts.
Gerard Nolan, Vice President and Managing Director EMEA at Royal Caribbean, stated, "As a brand focused on creating memorable holidays for families, it's especially meaningful to partner with Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity to support the families who need it most."
To celebrate the partnership, Royal Caribbean will host Roald Dahl Nurses on a special four-night preview sailing on Legend of the Seas before its official debut on 4 July. This event will allow nurses to enjoy the ship's entertainment, dining, and relaxation offerings.
Louise Griew, Chief Executive of Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, expressed delight at the partnership, noting its potential to raise vital funds and highlight the dedication of the nurses.
After its European season, Legend of the Seas will head to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in November 2026, offering Caribbean getaways
