Emirates deploys Airbus A350 between Hangzhou and Dubai
Emirates has recently deployed its new Airbus A350 aircraft on flights between Dubai and Hangzhou. Emirates introduces Airbus A350 and Premium Economy service in Oslo
Emirates marked a significant milestone with the launch of its iconic Airbus A350 to Oslo bringing its award-winning Premium Economy offering to Scandinavia for the first time. The airline hosted an exclusive celebration at the airport, welcoming invited guests and media for an afternoon that underscored its commitment to delivering exceptional service in the region. The introduction of the A350 service to Oslo marks a new chapter in the airline’s investment to the Norwegian market. IndiGo orders 30 additional A350-900 aircraft from Airbus
Airbus confirms the conversion of 30 out of its 70 purchase rights of Airbus A350-900 aircraft into firm orders. With this, IndiGo doubles its wide-body order from 30 to 60 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. IndiGo and Airbus had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding for these additional 30 aircraft at the IATA AGM held in New Delhi in June 2025. IndiGo had placed an initial order of 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft in April 2024 marking its first widebody purchase. The airline had also retained purchase rights for an additional 70 Airbus A350 Family aircraft for future requirements of which 30 are being exercised now. After converting 30 of those purchase rights into firm orders now, IndiGo is left with purchase rights for 40 more wide-body aircraft. The Emirates A350 begins regular operations to Muscat
The deployment of the next-generation aircraft, originally slated for 1 July, was brought forward by a week. The aircraft operates flight EK 866, which departs Dubai at 2:15 am and arrives in Muscat at 3:30 am. The return leg, EK 867 departs Muscat at 4:40 am and lands in Dubai at 5:55 am, perfectly timed to help customers connect for their flights to destinations in Europe, Americas, Africa and Asia. * The three-class aircraft offers 312 seats with 32 lie-flat seats in Business Class arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, 21 Premium Economy seats in a comfortable 2-3-2 setup, and 259 spacious Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Flight EK 862 departs Dubai at 7:55 am and reaches Muscat at 9:05 am, while the return flight EK 863 takes off from Muscat at 11:25 am and lands in Dubai at 12:30 pm.
Philippine Airlines purchases the Philippines’ first A350-1000
Philippine Airlines announced that the first of the nine A350-1000 aircraft it ordered from Airbus is already on the production line at the latter’s factory in Toulouse, France. The purchase of these aircraft is part of the Philippine flag-carrier’s ongoing modernisation programme. According to PAL president Richard Nuttall: "We're happy to share with you a glimpse into our very first A350-1000. We're set to take delivery of the plane in the fourth quarter of 2025. The fleet game-changer will significantly boost PAL's passenger capacity and reinforce our commitment to delivering world-class service." For his part, airline executive vice-president and chief operating officer Carlos Luis Fernandez remarked that the new aircraft is strategically vital. Fernandez said: "We selected the A350-1000 because it will provide us with the flexibility to balance demand with capacity. The new-generation aircraft are central to responding to the demands of our growing market, regionally and internationally." A game-changing selection The game-changing A350-1000 opens a new chapter in the development of PAL’s transpacific long-haul operations. Fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, the aircraft flies with a range of up to 16,100 kilometres, offering ultra-long-range connectivity with improved fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. Each A350-1000s can accommodate 382 passengers in a tri-class cabin configuration with distinct cabins allotted for Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class travellers. The aircraft's five main sections, which include the nose, forward fuselage, center fuselage, rear section, and wings, are currently being assembled with allowance for electricity, water, and air systems. Upon assembly, these sections will be shipped to the final assembly line, where the aircraft will be fitted with advanced onboard systems, ducts, and control cables. Airbus employs rigorous quality checks and testing as it assembles the planes to make sure that every aircraft meets high standards and specifications. The additional eight A350-1000s are slated for production and eventual delivery to the Philippine flag carrier from 2026 to 2028.
STARLUX Airlines orders ten new A350-1000 aircraft
Taiwan’s STARLUX Airlines signed a firm order with Airbus for the purchase of ten additional A350-1000 aircraft during the recently concluded Paris Air Show in France. This takes the total of the airline’s standing order for this particular model to 18 aircraft. The agreement was signed by STARLUX Airlines CEO Glenn Chai and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus’ executive vice-president for sales of commercial aircraft. Chai said of the order: “Expanding our international fleet with additional A350-1000s is a significant step toward reinforcing our global presence and enhancing connectivity across key markets. This aircraft offers efficiency, range and comfort, making it the perfect fit for our strategy to optimise long-haul operations while delivering an exceptional passenger experience. As we continue to strengthen our international network, the A350-1000 will play an important role in driving growth, sustainability and operational flexibility.” Saint-Exupéry added: “STARLUX Airlines’ decision to add more A350-1000s to its growing fleet reaffirms the aircraft’s standing as the benchmark for long-haul operations. With its advanced design and fuel-efficient performance, the A350-1000 Long Range Leader enables airlines to optimise routes while reducing environmental impact. We are pleased to strengthen our long-standing partnership with STARLUX Airlines as they expand their global footprint and connect more destinations with efficiency and comfort.” A great choice STARLUX Airlines already operates an all-Airbus fleet of 28 aircraft including the A350-900, the A330neo and the A321neo. The Taiwanese airline also has on order 30 aircraft including the A350F freighters and A350-1000. The A350 is the world’s most modern and efficient widebody aircraft and has set new standards for intercontinental travel. It offers the longest range capability of any commercial airliner in production today: powered by the latest generation of Rolls-Royce engines, the aircraft is designed to fly up to 9,700 nautical miles / 18,000 kilometres non-stop. Airbus’ A350 series also uses 25 percent less fuel than previous generation types and with a similar reduction in carbon emissions. As with all Airbus aircraft, the A350 is already able to operate with up to 50 percent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and the manufacturer hopes to have its aircraft completely SAF-capable by 2030. The A350 Family has received more than 1,390 orders from 60 customers worldwide, with more than 650 aircraft currently in the fleets of 38 operators, flying primarily on long-haul routes.

For over 30 years, Emirates has played a key role in expanding France's aviation sector and enhancing trade and tourism flows. Key Emirates investments in France over the last three decades include: Emirates’ A350 and A380 purchases have supported thousands of jobs at Airbus, Safran, Thales as well as other parts of the aerospace value chain in France. Since its inception in 1985 – Emirates has invested more than €114 billion (US$ 130 billion) to purchase 254 Airbus aircraft including the, A300, A310, A330, A340-300, A340-500, A380 and A350 aircraft. The airline is a key customer for French aerospace manufacturers, sourcing Michelin tyres, Safran aircraft components and seating, and Thales avionics systems, among other parts to support its fleet. In 2023, the airline announced a series of contracts with Safran, worth over €1.0 billion (US$1.14 billion) combined. This includes a €896 million (US$1.0 billion) deal for the latest generation Safran Seats for Emirates’ new fleet of Airbus A350, Boeing 777X-9 and existing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The airline has also invested over €322 million (US$367.5 million) in Thales’ AVANT Up system for its new A350 aircraft. Emirates SkyCargo offers cargo capacity to customers in France on a weekly rotation between Dubai World Central (DWC), Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Lyon Saint-Exupery airports. The UAE is France’s largest export partner in the Middle East. Emirates directly contributes over €189 million (USD $215 million) to the French economy each year through operational expenditures such as fuel uplift, over-flight charges, inflight catering, aircraft landing and handling fees, crew layover, staff salaries, advertising, and sponsorship. France is also Emirates’ top source market globally for the procurement of wines, and 58% of the red wine consumed in Emirates’ First and Business Class comes from Bordeaux.
