The Athenee Hotel Bangkok invests in the largest in-property LED screens

The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok announced its investment of around THB10 million in a state-of-the-art LED screen system. Essentially the largest system of its kind installed within any hotel ballroom in Bangkok, this innovation reinforces the hotel’s long-term commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the booming Thai MICE industry. According to hotel general manager Blair Fowler: “This strategic investment reflects our confidence in Bangkok’s continued growth as a regional events hub. Today’s global planners expect world-class production standards within premium hospitality settings. Our LED infrastructure enables us to meet those expectations while improving operational efficiency and sustainability.” Events reimagined Installed in both the Crystal Hall Ballroom and the Grand Hall Ballroom, the new LED screens extend up to 27 metres wide and five metres high, transforming traditional ballroom staging into a production-ready visual platform capable of hosting international conferences, corporate summits, large-scale product launches, and immersive brand activations. Beyond visual scale, the LED installation delivers measurable environmental benefits as, compared to conventional projection systems and physical stage backdrops, LED technology significantly reduces energy consumption and eliminates the need for disposable printed panels, vinyl installations, and temporary scenic constructions. Event content can be fully digital, reusable, and adaptable in real time, lowering material waste and post-event disposal.  The fine-pitch P2.6 system delivers ultra-high-definition clarity at 800 nits of brightness, optimized specifically for ballroom lighting conditions. Three screen configurations are available at 9 metres, 18 metres, and 27 metres in width, allowing scalable production tailored to event requirements, improving cost efficiency for organizers while minimising unnecessary staging infrastructure.  At the same time, state-of-the-art video processing supports ultra-wide scaling, high-resolution playback, and multiple HDMI 2.0 inputs, ensuring seamless integration for complex, multi-source productions. The LED screen is movable and allows organizers to resize, reposition, or split configurations to match agenda formats and staging concepts. Raising the bar for premium hospitality and MICE in the Thai capital The Athenee is one of Thailand’s leading MICE hotels, with 30 meeting rooms available in Bangkok’s city center. With capacity for over 1,500 guests in the Crystal Hall Ballroom and 1,200 guests in the Grand Hall Ballroom, the hotel now combines heritage prestige with technical capabilities typically associated with convention centres, offering a competitive advantage within the luxury hospitality sector. As international business events rebound and brands prioritize immersive storytelling, this investment positions the hotel at the forefront of Bangkok’s high-end MICE market.

The luxurious Blue Jasmine rail service connects Bangkok to ancient Sukhothai

As the journey aboard the Blue Jasmine comes to its inevitable conclusion, Travel Daily Media’s Gary Marshall and his fellow travellers were in for yet another royal experience before making their way back to Bangkok. The old royal capital of Sukhothai is the last stop on the luxury train’s itinerary, a place where history comes alive even in the 21st century. According to Gary: “It’s a place of wonder, Sukhothai; how could it not be with its magnificent temples and the richness of its history as a place where kings walked with their respective courts? It’s a place that leaves one spellbound, fascinated by the fact that it is both ancient and timeless.” A storied journey The road to Sukhothai is scenic and intriguing: the train winds through Thailand’s northern mountains, traversing over great bridges and tunnels. The scenery makes travellers thoughtful, even insightful: it is as if they are watching time itself march before their eyes as the modern weaves into the archaic. Chef Patipat Lakpong captures the essence of the journey in a light lunch served aboard the train, the perfect repast with which to prepare travellers for the sights ahead. Indeed, the sights are awe-inspiring: a graceful temple weathered by time is a classic example of royal Thai architecture from the 13th century; ruins that call to mind a short-lived empire; and a sense of pride that comes from being hailed a UNESCO World Heritage site. It should be noted that Sukhothai nowadays is known either as the Sukhothai Historical Park or, more formally under its UNESCO appellation, the Historic Town of Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns. Covering a total of 11,852 hectares, the area is actually made up of the towns of Sukhothai, Si Satchanalai, and Kamphaeng Phet. Between the 13th and 15th centuries, Sukhothai served as the political and administrative centre of the first Siamese Kingdom, while Si Satchanalai served as its spiritual core thanks to the numerous Buddhist temples and monasteries built in the area. Following an immersive trip through the ancient capital, travellers made their way to an exquisite garden venue for an al fresco dinner. Here, they were regaled with traditional songs and dances endemic to the region: musical proof that the old ways are alive and well in Northern Thailand. Classic comfort in an ancient city For this leg of the journey, those on the Blue Jasmine made their way to the Sukhothai Heritage Resort for the night. Just 45 minutes away from the Sukhothai Historical Park and adjacent to Sukhothai Airport, this elegant boutique resort offers just 68 rooms and suites in a low-rise structure inspired by the region’s architectural heritage. Likewise, the interiors are elegant without being overly opulent, a prime example of Thai design that takes elements of an ancient aesthetic and weaves it with contemporary sensibilities for a truly unique sense of style. Here, guests spent a restful night before heading out the next day to immerse themselves in the area’s crafting traditions before making their way back to the train. Following a night on the train, those on the Blue Jasmine enjoyed one final promenade in Bangkok, this time a trip down the Chao Phraya river paired with a sumptuous repast: an exquisite ending to an equally exquisite journey. Blue Jasmine train offers luxury ‘slow travel’ from Bangkok to Chiang Mai

With the Blue Jasmine well on its way into northern territory, guests aboard the luxury train are preparing for a few days in the heart of Lanna culture and tradition: Chiang Mai. Gary Marshall describes the way the morning comes in for those on the train: “As the sun rises, the early birds on board are treated to magnificent views of the surrounding mountains as they sip their morning coffee. It’s an awe-inspiring sight and an experience worth getting up early for.” Breakfast follows, again served with aplomb by award-winning chef Patipat Lakphong, just before guests disembark and make their way to their lodgings at the Bodhi Serene which will be home for the next couple of days. A serene mountain hideaway At the hotel, the early check-in enables guests to relax and unwind in rooms that capture the simple elegance of the region and the warmth of Lanna hospitality. Part of the Serene Group of Hotels, the Bodhi Serene takes its name from the bodhi tree growing in its premises. The word bodhi itself is rich in meaning: a slight translation of the Sinhalese bo-gaha or “tree of wisdom” as the Buddha gained enlightenment whilst sitting beneath the shade of such a tree. The serenity and enlightenment of that sacred experience is captured in the hotel’s tranquil environment paired with expertly delivered service that feels warm and welcoming regardless of one’s point of origin. A city of temples Once in Chiang Mai, guests are welcomed into their excursion by the crisp, cool mountain air and the more relaxed mindset of the locals. It is important to note that Chiang Mai is a royal city: originally founded in 1299AD, it served as the religious, political, and cultural capital of the Lanna Kingdom which covered what is now Northern Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar till the early 20th century. Chiang Mai is also where the Lanna monarch Mangrai, the fifth ruler of the royal line, promoted Buddhism, leading to the construction of over 300 temples throughout the city.  Over the past 700 years, the temples have been built and rebuilt: silent but powerful witnesses to the relentless march of time, seeing dynasties rise and fall in equal measure. Among these stunning places of worship are Wat Phra That Doi Suthep which offers magnificent views thanks to its location on Mount Doi Suthep and has the distinction of being a divinely-chosen site, which has led to it being whimsically named the Temple of the White Elephant. Guests found themselves enthralled by the intricacies of traditional Lanna architecture and the environs helped draw them into the area’s storied past, immersing them into the richness of Chiang Mai’s royal and sacred heritage. Thus beguiled, they found themselves at a cosy restaurant that served the delectable flavours of Northern Thai cuisine before making their way back to the hotel for a restful evening. Louis Vuitton has launched an exclusive “hotel” concept in Bangkok

To mark 130 years of its legendary Monogram, Louis Vuitton brings its globally celebrated Hotel concept to Thailand with an immersive pop-up that blends fashion, travel, and design into one meticulously staged experience. Running from February 11 to March 15, Louis Vuitton Hotel Bangkok transforms Baan Trok Tua Ngork, a century-old residence near Yaowarat, into a cinematic tribute to the maison’s enduring relationship with movement and modern luxury. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense, but it plays the part flawlessly. Set across four levels, the space unfolds like a boutique stay imagined through Louis Vuitton’s lens—where every room tells a story and every detail is intentional. Travel, the house’s original raison d’être, becomes the narrative thread that ties the experience together. As informed by a news report in the Rem. Having previously landed in New York, Shanghai, and Seoul, Bangkok now becomes the only destination in Southeast Asia and South Asia to host this concept, firmly positioning the city within Louis Vuitton’s global cultural circuit. The choice of venue is no accident: a historic building layered with memory, now reworked as a modern fashion landmark. Access is by appointment only, reinforcing the exclusivity of the experience and inviting guests to slow down and explore the house’s heritage at their own pace.
