Los Angeles Tourism debuts “We Love La” campaign”
The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism) launched its “We Love LA” campaign, with a brand-new commercial and corresponding campaign assets that pull back the curtain on the authentic LA experience to invite visitors to immerse themselves in LA’s breadth of attractions, vibrant culinary scene, outdoor adventures, and world-class sports and entertainment offerings. The anthemic commercial, which will air across LA’s target international markets, nods to the beloved classic—Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” “The beginning of the year was incredibly challenging for the Los Angeles community, and as we look ahead to recovery, we remain committed to the 543,000 Angelenos and more than 1,000 local businesses who depend on tourism for their livelihoods,” said Adam Burke, President and CEO, Los Angeles Tourism. “The best way that individuals can help our community recover, keep businesses open, and sustain our community in this time of need is by booking a trip to our City of Angels for leisure, business, or meetings & events.” Tapping into a familiar tune to Angelenos, the “We Love LA” campaign takes viewers through a perfect day in LA, drawing inspiration from Newman’s song, which has become synonymous with home team post-game celebrations. New route between Los Angeles and Athens bolsters Norse Atlantic’s coverage
Norse Atlantic has launched a new route between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Athens (ATH), adding to its transatlantic offering. The new route will mark the airline's commitment to offering new destinations for the US market, with affordable fare options. Launching on June 3rd 2025, the flight will run four times a week, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with fares starting at $269 / 259 EUR, with options ranging across economy and premium boarding. Norse Atlantic already serves budget routes from LAX, covering London, Paris, Rome, and now Athens. Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO and founder of Norse Atlantic Airways said: "We’re thrilled to be launching a new route between Los Angeles and Athens this year. Tap Air Portugal announces new routes from Lisbon to Los Angeles and from Porto to Boston
TAP Air Portugal will have two new routes to the United States of America that will directly connect Lisbon to Los Angeles and Porto to Boston. Flights between Lisbon and Los Angeles will start on 16th May 2025, and will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays until 26th May, after which a fourth weekly frequency is added on Saturdays, and until 25th October. Flights take off from Lisbon at 09:55 and arrive in Los Angeles at 14:40. Total flight time is 12 hours and 45 minutes. On the way back, flights depart Los Angeles at 16:40 and land at Humberto Delgado Airport at 12:00 the next day. The flight has a duration of 11 hours and 20 minutes. The route will be operated by Airbus A330-900 aircraft, with a capacity of 298 passengers. "We are very excited to announce the new flights from Lisbon to Los Angeles and from Porto to Boston, as well as the weekly offer of a direct flight between Terceira and S. Francisco," said Luís Rodrigues, President of TAP. "With these new routes, TAP further strengthens its privileged position in the transatlantic connection of Customers who want the best air travel between Europe, the Americas and Africa". Flights between Porto and Boston start on May 14 next year and are operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays until October 25. They depart from Porto at 18:05 and arrive in Boston at 20:30, on a flight lasting seven hours and 25 minutes. In the opposite direction, flights depart Boston at 23:00 and land in Porto at 10:35 the next day, on a flight lasting six 6 hours and 35 minutes. The route is served by the modern Airbus A321-Long Range, with a capacity of 168 passengers. Return fares from London to LA via Lisbon start from £499 and to Boston via Porto from £509, inclusive of all taxes and charges. From 3rd June 2025, one of TAP's weekly flights between Lisbon and San Francisco, on Tuesdays, will make a stopover on Terceira, thus allowing a new offer from the airline; a direct flight between the island of the Azores and California, to serve the large Azorean community residing there. Currently, TAP flies from Lisbon to seven US airports in New York, Newark, Boston, Miami, Washington DC, San Francisco, and Chicago, and from Porto to Newark.

Air New Zealand celebrates four direct decades to Los Angeles
Air New Zealand is celebrating four decades of connecting New Zealanders directly with the bright lights of Hollywood. On this day in 1984, the Kiwi carrier took off on its first non-stop service from Auckland to Los Angeles, cementing Air New Zealand as the longest serving non-stop carrier on the route. While Air New Zealand first touched down in Los Angeles in December 1965, its service included refueling stops in Nadi, Tahiti, or Honolulu, so 1984 marked the first non-stop service on a Boeing 747. Air New Zealand General Manager Long Haul Scott Carr says 40 years of flying AKL-LAX is testament to the popularity of the Air New Zealand service between the cities. “LA has long been a popular destination for Kiwis wanting to explore the city where movie magic is made.
