In the world of travel, the phrase ‘NDC’ is on everyone’s lips at the moment. It represents a paradigm shift in the way airline tickets are retailed globally – and yet, surprisingly few people know what it represents or what it means for industry staff or consumers.

Even worse, it seems like a hell of a lot of people still don’t know what ‘NDC’ actually stands for! Do you? To take things further, do you know who the biggest OTA in Indonesia is? We love a quiz here at TD – and we also love running around conferences trying to break up the monotony of well-rehearsed speeches and overly polished dialogue.

So we thought we would check in to find out the travel industry’s hive mind on the most important questions in travel today, as well as asking them for their opinion on the hottest and most disruptive companies in the sector.

Here are the questions we asked – in this case at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore during the recent Web in Travel conference. Why not have a think about your own answers before your watch the video to see if our respondents thought the same as you:

1. Who is the hottest start-up in travel?

2. Who would you say is the sexiest company in travel?

3. Name a Chinese OTA other than Ctrip.

4. Who is the biggest OTA in Indonesa?

5. What does NDC stand for?

Answers for the fact-based questions:

3. Didi, Meituan (are the main ones, there are many others)
4. Traveloka
5. New Distribution Capability
