Sheraton Hotels & Resorts has launched the Sheraton Nouakchott Hotel, marking Marriott International's debut in Mauritania. Situated in the capital city, Nouakchott, the hotel aims to become a central hub for business, events, and leisure, offering a blend of traditional Mauritanian culture and modern amenities.

The Sheraton Nouakchott is strategically located near key landmarks such as the Marché Capitale and the National Museum of Mauritania, providing guests with easy access to the city's cultural and natural attractions. Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President of Premium, Select & Midscale Brands for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, expressed pride in the hotel's opening, stating it underscores Marriott's commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences in emerging markets.

The hotel features 200 guest rooms and suites, including two Presidential Suites, all equipped with the latest technology and Sheraton signature amenities. The design incorporates local crafts and materials, offering an immersive experience inspired by Mauritania's cultural and natural beauty. The hotel also boasts extensive meeting and event spaces, including a Grand Ballroom and four additional meeting rooms.

Dining options include the all-day restaurant Feast, which serves locally inspired and international dishes, and Bene, offering an Italian dining experience. The hotel also provides a resort-like atmosphere with an outdoor pool, fitness centre, and spa facilities.

Sheraton Nouakchott hosts Gatherings by Sheraton, weekly experiences that celebrate local culture through activities such as Mauritanian mixology sessions and storytelling evenings. This initiative aligns with Sheraton's global community-centred approach, aiming to enrich both guests and locals
