TAT taps into Gulf markets

In a bid to promote new destination across Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Dubai & Middle East office is conducting road shows in Bahrain and Oman. The two countries will get a glimpse of new destinations Krabi and Hua Hin as well as activities lined up to improve number of visitors from the region.
The road show is set to take place today at at Crowne Plaza Hotel Manama and the second is on 1 May 2014 at Crowne Plaza Muscat. The delegation includes Tanes Petsuwan, executive director TAT – Europe, Africa and Middle East Market Region and Chalermsak Suranant director of TAT-Dubai and Middle Office.
The key segments being highlighted include medical tourism, health and wellness as well as to promote the country as a family-friendly and value-for-money destination. The other area of focus is the business segment.
Tanes Petsuwan, executive director TAT – Europe, Africa and Middle East Market Division said: “The road show is an important event for us as it help us build new relationships and strengthen ties with our local partners. It is also a perfect time to reassure travellers on the safety of the destination and bring back their confidence.”
The road show will witness 30 travel companies from Bahrain and 50 companies from Oman. TAT is looking to welcome about 31,162 visitors from Bahrain and 80,168 from the Sultanate of Oman.
