The digital travel platform's data shows a significant rise in accommodation searches for major marathon weekends in 2026, including the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok, the Mt. Fuji International Marathon, and the JTBC Seoul Marathon.

The JTBC Seoul Marathon, scheduled for 1 November 2026, saw a 73% increase in searches from Thai travellers compared to the previous year. Known for its scenic route through Seoul, the marathon also attracts participants from Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Similarly, the Mt. Fuji International Marathon, taking place from 12-13 December 2026, experienced a 41% rise in interest from Thai travellers, placing Thailand among the top three countries for search interest.

The Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok, occurring on 28-29 November 2026, also noted a 19% increase in searches. This event is gaining international attention, with interest from the Philippines, Singapore, Japan, and Taiwan.

Akaporn Rodkong, Country Director for Thailand and Indochina at Agoda, commented, "Marathons used to be a solo pursuit, but are now becoming the centrepiece of a trip for some travellers. Thai travellers are among the most active across the region's top races, reflecting a broader appetite for travel built around personal goals and wellness."
