Thailand has approved nine significant investment projects totalling $1.99 billion (663 billion baht), focusing on high-value sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), advanced electronics, aviation, clean energy, and food. This decision, made during a meeting of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas, underscores the country's appeal to multinational corporations seeking reliable production hubs in Southeast Asia.

The investments, led by major multinationals, reflect strong global confidence in Thailand's industrial capacity. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the BOI, stated, "By locating key parts of the AI and advanced electronics value chain here, we are connecting our economy directly to the core of next-generation global technology."

To support this influx of high-tech investment, the BOI has expanded its energy panel into the Subcommittee on Energy Management for Data Centre Investment and Project Screening. This body will evaluate data centre proposals on resource consumption, environmental impact, and clean energy sourcing, providing policy transparency for international operators.

Key projects include Datasection Thailand Co. Ltd's $23.52 million (78 billion baht) investment in GPU server infrastructure and Doosan Electro-Materials Thailand Co. Ltd's $18.02 million (6 billion baht) investment in copper-clad laminate manufacturing. Additionally, Nestlé Thai Co. Ltd is committing $68.87 million (229 billion baht) to expand its production facilities, and Thai Airways International PCL secured approvals for two expansion projects worth $43.02 million (143 billion baht).

The Thai government is also implementing a seven-point energy action plan to accommodate hyperscale projects, aligning resource management with green transition goals to ensure long-term operational security
