The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently hosted the Amazing Green Experience trade meet in Krabi, aiming to bolster responsible tourism by connecting international buyers and media with local operators. The event, held on 8 May at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort, showcased sustainable travel products from Krabi, Phang-nga, and Surat Thani to markets across ASEAN, South Asia, and the South Pacific.
Patsee Permvongsenee, TAT Executive Director for the ASEAN, South Asia, and South Pacific region, emphasised the initiative's role in positioning Thailand as a leader in responsible tourism. "By connecting international travel trade partners and media with local operators, we are creating practical opportunities for sustainable tourism products to reach global markets," she stated.
The trade meet featured 22 tourism operators, including award-winning businesses and those under the CF Hotels programme, engaging with 19 overseas travel partners from countries such as India, Vietnam, and Australia. Sixteen media representatives, including bloggers and influencers, participated to experience and promote Thailand's responsible tourism offerings.
The programme included a seller briefing on market trends, a product briefing on southern Thailand, a B2B session, and a networking lunch. Participants also embarked on familiarisation tours from 6 to 13 May, visiting sites like Ban Nai Nang Tourism Community and Wareerak Hot Spring and Wellness, which highlight Thailand's commitment to community tourism, wellness, and nature-based activities.
This initiative aims to expand sustainable tourism's market reach, supporting local operators and enhancing Thailand's reputation as a responsible travel destination
