“The four signings will further establish our presence in the bustling capital”: Wyndham boosts Bangkok network

By Alastair Newport On Jul 10, 2020

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to further expand its presence in Thailand with the introduction of four new hotels, in the centre of Bangkok’s commercial district.

The four hotels will be represented by four distinct brands under Wyndham’s portfolio – Wyndham, Wyndham Garden, Ramada Plaza by Wyndham, and Ramada by Wyndham – all scheduled to open within the next 24 months.

All four hotels in Bangkok are signed under a license agreement with Siamese and Kew Green Company Limited – a joint partnership between local property developer, Siamese Wealth Company Limited and hotel management operator, Kew Green Group Limited.

“Our partnership with Siamese and Kew Green complements Wyndham’s long-term growth strategy in Thailand to build on strong relationships with distinguished owners and reinforce our presence in key markets and capital cities. Bangkok consistently ranks as the top destination city both in Asia Pacific and globally, topping the Global Travel Index for the past four years. Growing our presence in the city was a natural decision for us. When travel resumes, we are confident that Bangkok will once again be a top destination; and Wyndham will be ready to welcome guests with a range of exceptional hotels,” said Joon Aun OOI, president, Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

“The four signings will further establish our presence in the bustling capital of Thailand, and also mark the debut of our Wyndham and Wyndham Garden brands to the city. Bangkok is a charming destination offering a myriad of local experiences including stunning historical landmarks and world-class cuisines. All of our four new hotels are well-positioned in the heart of the Bangkok CBD and will provide our guests with a range of curated brand concepts and a great launchpad to discover all that city has to offer,” said Andy Flaig, head of development, South East Asia and Pacific Rim, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

The four new hotels are:

● Wyndham Bangkok Queen Convention Centre, a 150-room accommodation, is situated near the intersection of Rama IV and Ratchadapisek Roads. Located on the south side of Asoke, the BTS Skytrain station and Queen Sirikit Convention Centre are both in walking distance, perfect for both business and leisure guests. This hotel is equipped with a range of leisure and fitness facilities including a rooftop infinity pool, bar and restaurant as well as a fully equipped gym with a sauna.

● Wyndham Garden Bangkok Sukhumvit 42 is a 185-room hotel located in the Thonglor-Ekkamai district, which is popular for its stylish coffee shops and restaurants for the curious traveller. The hotel offers close access to local attractions, amenities and tourist landmarks including the Gateway Ekkamai Community Mall and The EM District. The hotel will feature a large spacious lobby with a mezzanine, two swimming pools including one on the rooftop, two fitness centres with saunas, a Japanese garden, as well as meeting rooms.

● Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Bangkok Sukhumvit 48 is conveniently located in the heart of Bangkok, just 350 metres away from the BTS Skytrain station, and minutes away from the lively and stylish districts of Thonglor and Ekkamai. The hotel offers 200 guestrooms boasting scenic views of the Chao Phraya River and includes facilities like a business centre, exclusive lounge and personal concierge services.

● Ramada by Wyndham Bangkok Sukhumvit 87 is a 200-room property located in the new urban district, a few minutes’ walk away from the On Nut BTS Skytrain station. It is also located just 5 minutes from Chalong Rat and Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressways, providing convenient access to Bangkok’s leading attractions as well as shopping malls like Mega Bangna, one of South East Asia’s largest malls. Facilities include a swimming pool, a gym with panoramic city views and a lush rooftop garden.

In Thailand, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has an operating portfolio of 13 hotels located across Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi under its Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, Ramada by Wyndham and Days Inn by Wyndham brands.
