The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has unveiled The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary, a luxury retreat set amidst 76 acres of ancient forests and coffee plantations in the Western Ghats. This new identity reflects The Leela's commitment to creating destinations that are deeply rooted in their surroundings, offering guests an immersive experience in one of India's most pristine landscapes.
The sanctuary, nestled within one of Coorg's oldest coffee estates, is IGBC Platinum-certified and designed to harmonise with its natural environment. Drawing inspiration from Kodava heritage and estate living, the architecture blends seamlessly with local craftsmanship, creating an atmosphere where nature is an integral part of the guest experience. Anuraag Bhatnagar, CEO of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, stated, "The unveiling of The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary represents an important milestone in our journey of creating destinations that are deeply rooted in their surroundings."
The retreat features 71 villas, including the four-bedroom Sunbeam Presidential Villa, and offers a range of activities such as guided forest walks, plantation trails, and birdwatching. Dining options include Luma, offering lakefront dining, and Zen, which presents Pan-Asian cuisine. The retreat also boasts a seven-acre lake and a wellness centre, Aujasya by The Leela, providing personalised therapies and yoga.
With 24 hotels currently in operation and in development, The Leela continues to expand its portfolio, redefining luxury through experiences that celebrate India's diverse landscapes and traditions
