Americans complain the most about their holidays, according to new research. The study, which was carried out by travel product marketplace, Good Trip Marketplace, analysed 1,000 poor and terrible TripAdvisor reviews for 10 of the most popular tourist attractions in the world, and found that US holidaymakers made more complaints than any other nationality.

With 323 negative reviews across the top 10 most complained about tourist attractions, the US’ least favourite landmark is its very own Empire State Building in New York, which has gathered 101 complaints from Americans. The UK was second on the list of the nations that complain the most about their holidays, racking up 202 negative reviews across the 10 landmarks examined. Times Square, also in New York, is the landmark that Brits leave the most negative reviews about (44), closely followed by Paris’ Eiffel Tower (38).

The research also looked at the landmarks across the world that receive the most negative reviews on TripAdvisor, with the Trevi Fountain revealed as the most complained about tourist attraction.
