TDM AWARDS - NOMINATE NOW!

Travelex has launched its innovative Nomad mobile stores at Manchester Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, following a successful trial at Zurich Airport earlier this year. The Nomad concept combines full in-store capabilities with the flexibility of a pop-up, designed to serve areas with high passenger traffic. This mobile store can be swiftly opened and closed, providing secure storage outside trading hours.

Travellers can access over 50 foreign currencies on the day of travel or collect pre-purchased travel money from Nomad. Additionally, the store offers the Travelex Travel Money Card (TMC). Jacqueline Kelleher, Managing Director – UK at Travelex, stated, “Travelex’s Nomad marks an evolution in the retail travel money experience, helping us to serve a greater number of customers more conveniently than ever before.”

The Nomad units feature retractable screens displaying exchange rates and promotions, enhancing visibility. They can also be integrated with other Travelex assets, such as ATMs and fixed stores, to form a semi-permanent store during peak times. At Manchester Airport, the Nomad unit is located in the newly renovated Terminal 2 (East), part of the airport's £1.3 billion transformation. At Liverpool John Lennon Airport, the unit is situated in the landside departures hall.

Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, commented on the innovation, saying it aligns with the airport's goal of providing a world-class passenger experience through technology and convenience. The introduction of Nomad is expected to enhance the accessibility of currency exchange services for the nearly 40 million passengers passing through these airports annually
