United Airlines has completed the first phase of its expansion at the world's largest pilot training facility in Denver, adding 40 new CAE training devices since 2022. The facility now boasts 86 training devices, including 52 full-motion flight simulators and 34 fixed training devices, enabling the training of up to 860 pilots daily. The expansion is part of United's ongoing investment in its fastest-growing hub, with phase two set to begin next year and expected to be operational by 2030.

Located in Denver's Central Park neighbourhood, the facility spans 22 acres and serves as the sole training centre for United's nearly 18,000 active pilots. The centre operates 24 hours a day, 362 days a year, conducting over 32,000 training events annually. United CEO Scott Kirby highlighted the project's swift completion as a testament to the airline's commitment to excellence. CAE's President and CEO, Matthew Bromberg, praised the long-standing partnership, emphasising the importance of training technology and expertise.

United's investment in Denver extends beyond the training centre. The airline has invested nearly $1 billion since 2021 to enhance customer experience at Denver International Airport, including new gates and United Club locations. United plans to hire over 1,300 people in Denver in 2026, building on the 1,400 hired last year.

The expansion underscores United's commitment to maintaining its position as a leading global carrier, with plans to continue growing its pilot workforce and training capabilities.
