United Airlines has announced the resumption of its nonstop daily flights between George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and Simón Bolívar International Airport in Caracas, starting 11 August. This move reopens a significant economic gateway, fostering new business opportunities and facilitating family reunions. United had previously suspended this service in June 2017 after over 20 years of operation.

The airline will utilise a Boeing 737 MAX 8 for this route, offering passengers seatback screens with Bluetooth connectivity and access to streaming services such as Apple TV and HBO Max. The aircraft will also provide ample space for carry-on luggage and soon feature Starlink Wi-Fi.

Patrick Quayle, United's Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, stated, "This flight will help strengthen cultural and economic ties across the Americas and further reinforces United's Houston hub as a leading gateway to the region."

The service is part of United's broader strategy to expand its presence in Latin America and the Caribbean, where it currently operates up to 100 flights per day from Houston to over 50 destinations. Additionally, later this year, United plans to unveil a $2 billion transformation of Houston's Terminal B, which will include 22 new mainline gates and the largest United Club in the system.

Tickets for the Houston-Caracas route are available now on United's website and mobile app, pending government approval
