Vietnam Airlines has launched a new nonstop service between Hanoi and Amsterdam, marking a significant expansion in its international network. The inaugural flight, VN83, departed from Noi Bai International Airport on 16 June, carrying nearly 300 passengers on an Airbus A350. This new route makes Vietnam Airlines the first Vietnamese carrier to offer a direct connection between Vietnam and the Netherlands.
The airline will operate three roundtrip flights weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, providing passengers with a direct link between the two capitals. Nguyen Quang Trung, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, stated, "The inauguration of the Hanoi–Amsterdam service reflects Vietnam Airlines' continued commitment to expanding its international network and strengthening Vietnam's connectivity with key global markets."
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, a major European hub, offers passengers access to numerous destinations across Europe and beyond, further enhancing Vietnam's international connectivity. With the addition of Amsterdam, Vietnam Airlines now operates 12 nonstop routes to eight major European cities, including Paris, London, and Frankfurt.
This new service is expected to bolster trade, investment, and tourism between Vietnam and the Netherlands, fostering business and cultural exchanges. Additionally, from 1 July 2026, Vietnam Airlines will increase its Hanoi–Moscow service frequency to four weekly flights, aligning capacity with growing market demand and supporting Vietnam's global economic integration
