Vietnam Airlines has inaugurated a new direct service between Hanoi and Cebu, marking a significant expansion of its international network.
The inaugural flight, VN643, departed Noi Bai International Airport on 2 December and arrived at Cebu International Airport on 3 December, carrying approximately 100 passengers.
This new route offers travellers a convenient three-hour journey, operating thrice weekly from Hanoi on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, with return flights from Cebu on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
A gateway to new opportunities
The introduction of this service not only strengthens connectivity between Vietnam and Southeast Asia but also opens up opportunities for leisure travellers to explore Cebu's renowned island landscapes and cultural heritage.
Cebu is celebrated for its pristine beaches, world-class water sports, and vibrant dining scenes, making it an attractive destination for tourists.
Vietnam Airlines' Executive Vice President, Dang Anh Tuan, highlighted the broader implications of the new route, stating, "The Hanoi to Cebu service represents more than just a new route. It strengthens cultural and economic connections between Vietnam and the region, creating new opportunities for travel and collaboration."
This launch aligns with Vietnam Airlines' strategy to expand its presence in Southeast Asia, a region with strong tourism growth potential, and the new service is expected to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Vietnam and the Philippines, contributing to the development of regional aviation and tourism sectors.
