Vilnius TV Tower has reopened its panoramic rotating restaurant, Milky Way, offering a unique dining experience at 165 metres above the Lithuanian capital. The restaurant, located in one of Europe's tallest TV towers, introduces a novel wine list curated from vineyards at similar altitudes, creating a connection between the landscape and the wine.

The Milky Way restaurant, known locally as Paukščių Takas, attracts over 130,000 visitors annually. Chef Aleksandras Buiko has reimagined Lithuanian cuisine with a modern twist, using fresh local produce. "We developed the food and wine side by side so every pairing feels natural," Buiko explained, highlighting dishes like trout with sea buckthorn and black bread crumble.

The wine list's focus on elevation is a distinctive feature, with selections from vineyards matching the restaurant's altitude. Sandra Vambutė, Marketing Manager at Vilnius TV Tower, stated, "Our aim isn't to replicate conventional fine dining formats but to anchor the experience in contrast."

The restaurant rotates 360 degrees every 55 minutes, offering views of up to 50 kilometres. The Vilnius TV Tower, completed in 1980, is the tallest structure in Lithuania and the 8th tallest TV tower in Europe. It also houses the Fight for Freedom exhibition, commemorating Lithuania's struggle for independence in 1991.

The tower has evolved into a multi-use site, featuring high-altitude flats and the Edge Walk experience. The reopening of Milky Way adds to the trend of elevated dining across Europe, joining the ranks of Berlin's Sphere restaurant and the world's tallest revolving restaurant in the Swiss Alps
