Virgin Voyages has commenced its inaugural Alaska season, with sailings from Seattle beginning today aboard the Brilliant Lady. The season features seven itineraries across 17 sail dates, ranging from seven to 12 nights, and includes destination-inspired dining and exclusive onboard experiences tailored for Alaska.

The season highlights sustainable tourism, with over half of the Alaska Shore Things excursions operated by certified eco-friendly tour operators. The onboard marine team has partnered with ORCA for whale sighting training, and a wildlife expert will be present to educate guests. Additionally, the ship will implement voluntary speed reductions to protect marine life and utilise advanced wastewater treatment systems.

Virgin Voyages has introduced two new 'Happenings Cast' members for the Alaska season. A Cultural Heritage Guide from Alaska Native Voices will also be onboard select sailings, hosting workshops and discussions on Alaska Native culture.

New onboard experiences include Primetime Ports, a visual introduction to destinations, and Drawn to the Wild, a sketching session inspired by Alaska's landscapes. Guests can also enjoy Northern Nightcaps, a mixology workshop, and Baking Alaska, a dessert class paired with wine.

Dining options have been enhanced with Alaska-themed dishes, such as pan-roasted Alaskan halibut and chorizo-crusted black cod. The onboard beverage programme now includes expanded hot drink and local beer selections.
