Zoomcar, India's leading car-sharing marketplace, has announced that its hosts collectively earned approximately $12.8 million in net payouts during 2025. The platform, which connects vehicle owners with users for self-drive rentals, reported that 18,800 hosts received earnings, with 56.5% of these earnings coming from repeat renters. This indicates a robust demand for the service, driven by customer loyalty.
The company's data reveals that hosts who offered home delivery services earned nearly twice as much as those who did not, with home delivery bookings generating around $1.84 million. Additionally, hosts with multiple cars earned 1.5 times more per vehicle compared to single-car hosts, suggesting that scaling supply can significantly boost income.
Zoomcar's CEO, Deepankar Tiwari, commented on the findings, stating, "Host earnings are one of the clearest indicators of marketplace health and value creation. This CY 2025 update reflects the strength of our host ecosystem, the quality of repeat-led demand on the platform, and the income upside available to hosts who adopt the right features and operate consistently."
The report also highlighted that 37% of total earnings came from hosts who joined the platform in 2025, showing a meaningful contribution from new participants. Major cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai accounted for two-thirds of the total earnings, underscoring strong demand in these metropolitan areas.
Zoomcar's continued expansion and the adoption of features like home delivery are seen as key drivers for host monetisation, with seasonal travel peaks further enhancing earnings potential
